St Lucia

Bit of a longshot this but I'm off for a break to the island of St Lucia shortly. Anyone know anything about RIBS out there? It would be nice to hire one!

As I said..... Longshot!

Barbados

Hi I know you said Lucia, but having just come back from Barbados at Xmas I booked myself on a Rib Safari, basically 2 of you go in a 4m Rhino Rider, then you all go off in a pack of 6 Ribs (Rhino Riders) with a 6m Rib as back up. The tour was supposed to last 5hrs going round the Island but was Cancelled 5 times due to "adverse weather". In the end I never got to do it as it was kept being cancelled so went Jet Skiing instead. Their interpretation of bad weather as I see it, is anything over Force 2, upon the last cancellation I told the bloke it was a good job he did not run his business in the UK cos he would be bust by now!! When I tool the Jet ski out a good 1/2 mile possibly more there was no more than a slight chop, had to use my own wake to get the ski airborn. So good luck and if you succeed please let me know as I will go their instead at xmas this year.

P.s: It was 32degrees when I was outthere so have a brilliant time

Thanks for that....

I've not seen any evidence of anything RIB wise in St Lucia, hence my post. Interesting about Barbados though.... The winds come mainly from the East out there, so maybe that side was rough? Forcasting 5's and 6's in St Lucia when I looked last week.....but calm on the sheltered west coast and 82 degrees....

Looks like I'll just have to stick to sitting on the beach and drinking coctails!

Sigh....

You are correct the East Coast and South Coast are notoriously windy, but we and the Rib company were on the West Coast. Anyway have a superb time and if you manage to get out on a Rib please let me know as we have not booked anything for this Xmas yet and seeing as all the other half wants is to lay in the sun all day every day I will only be toooooooooo glad to get out on the water especially in a Rib

P.s also if you like your cocktails ask for a G F U

Been sailing pretty much around the area but seen very few ribs if i dont count the 2 million Caribes that drives around.
I would guess that the east/southeast coast would be the best chance to find any.
I have never seen any in Rodney bay or Marigot bay (North east coats) but the Capital Castries should have some activity regarding ribs.
Keep me informed so i know next time i am there.
