I use them too. I had a claim last year, paid up no problem. I have just renewed with them and the premium hasn't gone up! now that unheard of these days.

I had a claim for an engine theft last year and towergate were very helpful. This year I changed ribs and they were perfectly happy to put my insurance on-hold until I got my new boat. As you've probably guessed I'm happy with them.

I'm a little scared at posting
Noble Marine for me for three years now also been good on price and service.
just remember to check if knocking off a few pounds puts you in the next insruance bracket down.
Example i have just tried.
Boat insured for £3401 and £600 on engine is £219.
Boat insured for £3399 and £600 on engine is £192.
Every little helps

A bit late to wade in, it seems
like I missed most of the fun I use Mercia Marine after I fell out with Bishop Skinner. The Quadrant policy at Mercia is an agreed value policy I. E if the boat is insured for a set value & it's a total loss, you get the agreed value. Bishop Skinner were taking the premium based on my valuation but would only pay market value, check your small print!! Also my policy is new for old on engines & electronics. My cruising limits are Elbe to Brest & passages between. No "inshore waters" limits. The premiums aren't the cheapest, but not OTT either. You get what you pay for.

Sorry, but I had a shocking experience with Towergate and I dumbed it down, they were pretty rude and unhelpful, in an age of social networks and forums companies really need to look after their customers, Towergate were not interested in keeping my business, even when I said I would need cover in the future. A couple of years on and I have two policies with Noble, both of which would have been at Towergate had they not ripped me off.

I read it, but this thread was started to get some advice about insurance not to watch a couple of members swing handbags at each other.

Come on bring this thread in line with the others, helpful information with some banter thrown in, in which everyone has a laugh and gets along.
Play nicely......

Insurance is a boring subject, however so is reading the rubbish between PeterM and SR4.
As the OP may I thank all that have contributed to the original request of Rib Insurance, there are a few companies I can look at, Cheers.

Handbags back on the rack please, gals!
I think we're all agreed that this had gone far enough. Any further posts to this thread are to address the question posed by the OP. Anything nasty and it's getting shut down.
