Rib covers

Who to use regarding a new Rib cover. I used a guy 18 months ago down her in the Solent a Mark Taylor who came out a made a cover from the back of his van. Not a bad job so when I had my new Rib who did I called. You right the same Mark Taylor.

Not as easiy as that though I gave him details of the Rib he asked me to send pictures and he would give me a quote. Yes I did that but I never heard from him. I gave him another call and he couldnt remember and would get back to me within the hour. This was within 3 days He never got back to me.
I then asked 2 other companies from a boat magazine advert for prices one quoted me £600 and the other said that they would need 3 trips to Southampton to do the work and it was not worth doing for them.

So I spoke to Redbay who quoted me for a custom cover £450 plus VAT. Can you belive it that people advertise then turn business away. ? Anyone else had this problem.

It seems the marine industry is more than a little fickle for service.

It may be too late for you but JB Yachtcovers based in Hamble is exceptional. Maybe a little more cost(possibly), but you won't get a better designed and made cover.

Only recomending, not connected etc. He's done all my canopies, dinghy covers, flybridge covers etc etc.

Personally I wouldn't use anyone else.

Send me a pm for his number if required.

Rib covers

Hi there

Had a cover made for my SR4 last September. They had the basic SR4 dimensions on file. All I had to do was supply dimensions of the A-Frame etc.for them to modify the cover to fit. They also carried out a few other mods I requested. Cover extends over the outboard as well. Really pleased with the product & service. Came in at about £350 as I recall.
Hope this helps.
