Pacific 24 mk1

Hi all
I thought i would share with you some pics of my now almost finished rib.

I bought it off flee bay quite a while ago and it didn't look pretty

I totaly stripped and rebuilt it and fitting outboards instead of an inboard diesel (too costly)

Pics taken prior to launching on the 25/01/2013, i have some other pics comming from friends that were at the launch, hope to collect them and add later.

Hi
The engines are just over two years old, managed 38 knts and still can get it on the plane on one engine while dragging the other.

don't like the idea of a jet drive rib, i think it's okay for a hard boat that hardly lift there asses out of the water but a rib (or mine) will spend a lot of time in the air

luckly i had the use of a big shed, the guys that sorted the transom put it in there shed, so on wet windy days i spent building.

I might have another one to do, when somone on here has a sea trial, he helped me with the 700 screws putting the tubes on and that was very welcome help.

Looks good Ian..... remember seeing the early posts......its come a long way

I am pretty confused by Halmatic and their 'badging' of some boats...... Our Jet (measuring 26 foot plus) is plated as a Pac 24 (Mk1 is my understanding), but has a different hull shape (despite Jet) to yours, and has mid engine layout Some pics in our gallery here: http://www.rib.net/forum/members/7074-albums143.html

I understood /understand it to be one of 2 built..... with the later incarnation being those which you see hanging off the side of Navy warships (same Yanmar 440 engine but with Hamiltons rather than our Castoldi)...... Is yours plated as a '24'? Just curious really..... either way, looks a capable /neat bit of kit

Hi Dan
It was advertised as an Atlantic 21 when i bought it, wasn't realy worried about that as i had a spare set of tubes for a Pacific 22 and Paul Tilley said the only real differance was the transom securing flaps.
It wasn't until i collected it that i belived it to be a Pacific 22 due to having an engine bay.
It looks as if there had been a 4 pot Mermaid fitted before as it was exactly the same as my other 22 i had.
It wasn't till tried to fit the tubes, that the problem surfaced, tubes 2 foot to short.
I then measured the lengh of the deck and this was exactly 22 foot long, i had some paper work on the Pac 22 and the lengh of the deck was given as 20 foot and a 1/4 inch, so i presumed it was a 24.
There were no plates markings anywhere on the hull/console etc, so in actual fact i don't know exactly what i do have originally all i know was it was orange.

I absolutley love it, i did regret selling my old Pac, but i'm happy again.

Hi Mate
not a problem, but you will have to keep the pastie consumption to a minimum, it's not got that much power.
