Mercury Ocean Runner 460 ?

Hi All - I have tried searching for a similar thread but I haven't managed to find one.
Just a quick question, I am downsizing from an 18Ft Regal Bowrider as its such a pain to tow and launch weighing in at just under 1500Kgs on the trailer when all the gear is in and full of fuel.
We launch at Exmouth and travel approx 10 miles round to Sidmouth on a regular basis and usually mix up with day trips, fishing and water sports. Obviously the Regal is thirsty but when it chops up, unless its really bad its never a problem.
Having owned a Valiant V 450 approx 20 years ago I vowed I'd never go back to a small Rib after a couple of nasty journeys back to Exmouth when it unexpectedly turned rough.
Has anyone got an experience of how these 460's get on when its a bit choppy ? Is this likely to be any better as it looks like quite a shallow V but I can't find anywhere what the dead rise is on a Mere OR 460
Many thanks to all - Martin

I just had a look at their web site, sod that for the trips you’re doing, they don’t give a dead rise. If you don’t mind a rough trip get an SR4.
Otherwise, to use a well worn and old fashioned phrase and strictly IMO ‘you’re gonna need a bigger boat’!🦈

I've got the 420/40HP and look enviously at the 460/60HP but also have been looking at solid hulls such as made by Boston Whaler and Ranieri.

A few guys who frequent the forum below have 460's:

Hey Martin, did you go for a MErcury 460 in the end?
If so how do you find it?

Hi, after hours of research and going out with friends on their ribs I bought a Ribeye 2nd hand and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made.

After going out on some day “Treks” if you want to use in the sea around the uk, the mercury would only be usable on 10% of the days where I could use the Ribeye. Cost is higher at the front but it holds its price so over a few years the difference in total ownership is not as great as you think
Hope that helps
