no just gavity activated, they work really well, i was a bit critical about the height but i was governed by the old console, the matey was happy and that's all that counts

Powdercoated stainless? Is it an old job? I only ask as we've seen powdercoated stainless specced a few times and I'm wondering how it holds up against the salt. There's a theory that the powdercoat stops air getting to the stainless so it can't oxidize and protect itself. A bit like powdercoated aluminium which rots away and bubbles up the coating, I've seen a lot of that.

we didn't powdercoat it, what happen's with that is that it crack's on the welded joint's and then peel's off over time, we actually sprayed it about a year ago and i think it's held up quite well, not normal paint or undercoat of course, my thinking behind that was if it start's to flake i can do something else with it quite easily, good luck with zubol

Probably ok for your balcony balustrade at home then, just not up to the abuse it gets on a rib.
I'll have to pop in for a cup of tea and a nose around next time I'm over
