i think it's a good idea, criuse in company and not race, we did almost the same when we went round in 1999, if you call it a race you come up against all sorts of health and safety issues
to enter a rib in one of the round britain races will cost you a fortune, but to get together with a few like minded people and go will cost you your time and fuel

Round Britain

Great idea, wish I'd had more notice.
Ah, just re-read it, it does not seem to be an open event, food for thought though

It was discussed on here a year and a bit ago but unfortunately descended into a 'BIBOA-bashing' thread , although that part was then separated out. Lots of information here: http://www.greatbritishribrally.co.uk/.

Edit: original thread: http://rib.net/forum/showthread.php?t=27432

the way it could work is that you all go together and stay together and help each other, i don't need to say your boats will need careful preping, but think of how many hours you're boats have done without breaking down and times that by your cruising speed, you'll find that 1900nm ain't a problem, you're biggest problem will be fuel
don't let biboa get in your way, it won't have anything to do with them, it will be an extended day out

They seem to be two things going on here - the Rally itself and http://www.crrib.co.uk/ who are entering and trying to sell seats for charity?

Hi, CRRIB was concieved as a bucket list to get furter into endurance ribbing, and then edge towards racing, and to raise as much as possible for Hope House, a childrens end of life support hospice, and the Great Western Air Ambulance.
We are just about to launch the new RIB, a Wahoo 10m with a pair of 350 Verardo's, it will be on display at RIBEX next week.
Yes, rear seats are still available on a few of the 12 legs!
