Flatacraft 3m rib help

Hi, new member here,
ust acquired an old Flatacraft 3mtr rib. It seems in good condition, with no repairs or damage.
It has 2 'bench' type seats, no steering and, as yet, no engine.
I would like to use it for fun, as my two lads are very keen.
Eventually, it would be nice to add proper seats or maybe a console, and add some steering and remotes.
If anyone on the forum maybe has any advice, or maybe parts for sale that I could use, I would be very grateful, especially an engine which would suit at the right price. I have been offered an old 25hp Johnson long shaft (electric and pull) in need of some work, would this do ?
Also, does anyone have any original literature or links I could look at, as I said, I know nothing about Flatacraft 3, although I have seen others.

Welcome to the forum....

Pics would help but you may struggle to get a console in there and retain it's practicality.

I used to have one of these. Will take up to 30hp long shaft engine but keep it a 2 stroke as a 4 stroke will probably be too heavy. Fun little boats but don't expect to stay dry in anything other than flat calm! Set up and owned by Tony Lee-Elliott some yonks ago, there were rumours that the moulds had been bought by someone else and the company started up again.

Yep, started up.......and then went down again.

Welcome to the site, the F3 is a great little boat, if I could find one in good condition it would be a good choice to upgrade my lads 2.8M SIB.

The 25HP Johnson would make it go really well but I can't remember if they take a Long or short Shaft. I'd avoid electric start as having a battery in a boat that size takes up a lot of space.

As has been said you may struggle to fit a console etc in the space, but I'd enjoy it as it is, because now you've joined the slippery slope it won't be long before you and your lads want something bigger

Well done for finding one in good condition, and most of all, enjoy it.

Nasher

I've got one I bought as a tender for a job I was on with a river mooring. I but i didn't need it in the end and now it's taking up space so it's ebay bound. I'll bring it over to you if you want and you can kick it's tyres.

Stu

PM me how much you'd like for it.
The smaller Nashers are now after a small RIB to replace their SIB.

It would be a good little project for me to supervise them with for the winter.

Nasher.
