Cushion Question

So my Caribe came with a set of cushions in which the internal foam was wrapped in heat sealed plastic. Of course water made it's way into that plastic bag and now they are wet and getting moldy. I assume that I should pull the plastic off the foam to let them dry out.

My questions are:
was that plastic supposed to be permanent? Do I need to replace it with something else? Is this a standard construction method?

I obviously have no clue so all help is appreciated.

Jason

Hi newbie rib shopper here. Are you glad you bought a Caribe? Thanks for your response or any insight you might offer
