Ours is a plain old Labrador called Honey, and luckily she comes from working stock, so she won't get too big at all - doesn't mind going on boats at all, especially if it involves a little food bribery!
good call, nice dog! working labs are so much better than the show counterparts!! We have a black one, short stocky male, fit as a butchers dog. I hate the fat headed, over jowelly, thin legged and fat susceptible show versions.

She is a fantastic dog and thinks running around on the cliff paths and the beaches around Salcombe is the best thing ever! Very clever too and adapts to whatever the situation is - she behaves quite differently with the Father in Law who she goes to stay with occasionally.

She is 14 months old now and starting to get a bit of stamina, we have been very careful about not over exercising her and giving her hip problems in later years, hopefully her slight build will also help with that. She is also very bossy when meeting other dogs, and I have only ever seen her sit down once when approached by another Lab - even as a puppy!

Chickens have their uses but dogs are more fun. Not sure you could take a chicken for a long walk or get it to play catch ....

It may be a lower-maintenance option if you have to spend all your 'free' time wiring boats though !

No the Winking Prawn is a cafe restaurant at North Sands Salcombe - great place! They are taking over the Oyster Shack over the winter and calling it The Island Street Bar and Grill.

Neil - Lovely chiuahuah's.... we used to have 12 of them! Only ended up keeping 3 though... they were hilarious, all with such different personalities.

Both in my opinion. Mind you, if the hairballs would chip in for fuel, it would be nice...

You've no idea how funny that was (I think?). Cait is pronounced "Cawtch", as close as be-damned to how a toff would say "Catch".

I like it!

I think my missus was trying to get rid of our dog once, she put the lifejacket on upside down so if he jumped it he would have been floating with all four legs sticking straight up.
She said it was an "accident" yeah, she never did like the dog
