Camp and launch

I live in Lincoln and wish to tow my rib with my motor home at easter to a place where i can camp and launch.I also have a 4x4 so launching is not the problem i am looking for a camp site that will take my motorhome boat and launch vehicle. A nice stretch of coast would be a bonus. Am i asking for to much or do any of you fellow ribbers know of such places for a long weekend of fun. Any help would be appreciated thanks Ian.

Hi Ian
Oban is one of our favourite places - and you can usually find somewhere to cruise/dive whatever the weather.

Campsite is here :
http://www.obancaravanpark.com/

... and its 400 yards from Puffin where you can launch/fuel etc.

...... I'll look out for you if you decide to make the journey >>> I am up for the long weekend

Jeff

How far do you want to go ?

Wells next the sea
not to far to drive, but you only have a 4 hour window around high tide

We use to launch at Levington on the Orwell. Leave the boat on a pontoon mooring over night, and camp at Orwell Meadows camp site.

Great site with own club house, cheap tasty bar meals and good beer. They will also find a place for you to park the boat and trailer.

We found it easier and cheaper to book a mooring rather than pay the slip fees the following day. Just show the beer tokens to the berthing master and he will look after you

Along to Blakeney point for seals, and a bit of fishing, mostly empty beaches and sand dunes

Take you bino's Naturist beach too

If you want to go you will need to book the camp site ASAP it does get busy

Also forgot to say, Waveney River Center, on the south broads. Camp right along side your boat. You will need to buy a broads license, but 10mins down the river and through the lock at Oulton Broad. That takes you down through Lowestoft (past the old Vosper yard where Virgin Challenger 1 was built) and straight out to sea

.... about 7 hrs from here which would be similar for you plus 30mins or so.

>> but well worth the trip for the scenery, cruising area, diving and beer

The 28 miles to Tobermory ... and back, with refreshments in the Mishnish makes for a good day out
Jeff
