Thanks all :-) - walking around with a silly fixed grin feels really odd!!!

As for the Searider get together - would have been tempted but we don't collect her until Saturday afternoon so will have to gracefully let you all down!!

The Lundy trip sounds great but apart from the distance to Somerset a bit of a major undertaking for complete newbies and if it gets rough I don't want to snap a nail

Now then chaps let me find my salty hairy sealegs and once a bit more confident in self and new RIB will come along (with the family if that helps answer any of the other implied questions - lol) and annoy you with lots of stupid newbie questions and "oooh is'nt your one fast" comments

Jxx

Congratulations, they are a great boat - as you must know by now.

Will you be changing your user name Knots Now?

On a serious note, as you are in need of a confidence boost (assuming you have not already done one) get yourself out for a weekend with one of the good Powerboat 2 instructors that populate this here forum.

Once again, congrats

Thanks Malthouse - all three of us including the monster son took our RYA Powerboat 2 course earlier this year and then followed up with VHF radio - found it a really useful thing to do and a great introduction to growing sealegs!!

We used Ducks 2 Water in Southampton and can't recommend them highly enough

Are you local to the Solent? If so, come and say hello this afternoon if you're going to run her thought her paces. I would guess that lunch will finish us Seariders at about 3ish and peeps will start drifting away in packs after that. So there will be a good chance of you spying someone.

If not take it methodical and slowly the first launch and recovery and make sure you dot the i's and cross the t's before you're ready. I'm sure you'll have a wonderful first trip.

Be sure to post your adventures!

Not really near enough the Solent just to pop down - takes over an hour - hope to give her a quick dunk at Littlehampton later today - can potter up the river to Arundel and check all is sound then have a quick run up the coast all being well

Will let you know how it goes - if we ever get out!!
