Hi Alex
There are two commercial RiB operators started in St.Ives this year one is a Ribeye run by Phil Steed the other is this yellow ferryman RIB I don’t know who the skipper is, they seem to do a good trade as I often spot both RiBs out.

I think Phil had a run it with the quay wall and his front sponson, from what I hear the Quay won and he was looking to have a heavy duty strake added

Cheers Shaggy

Hi Roy
Don’t think so, I’m sure his name is Steed, he was until very recently head Chef at the Coffee Bean in Helston which he owns, a DJ at a local night club and now a RIB commercial operator.

Quite a career change.. I haven’t had the chance of speaking with him since his new venture but when Ive seen the RiB in St.Ives bay he looks quite busy.

Not sure what he’s gonna do in the winter mind.

Next time I see him ill tell him to get signed up on here

Shaggy

Front page Western Morning News 27.08.05.
"Tourist Boat Crash Terror" Big Yellow rib "snapped in two" .Major rescue launched off St Iives involving RNLI, beach lifeguards,RN Helicopter, police and ambulance crews. No one badly hurt, moat serious injury suspected dislocated shoulder. Marine Accident Investigation Board investigating.Possibly hit some driftwood.
Looks a bit of a mess in the front cover photo and a close up shot inside the paper with a massive split from beneath the starboard sponson through the V and back up to port next to the web address www.ferrymanboats.com.
