Anchor measurements
Does anyone have an 8kg or close grapnel with spoon flukes they could measure for me please? I need folded length and folded diameter to see if it'll fit in my anchor locker.

Ta Brian I'm getting bored with struggling to get the Danforth in there, and it's not a very big anchor either.

Cheers Brian I don't suppose you've got the next size down kicking around as well have you? Just measured up the Danforth and it's 465mm.
(I'll have to measure the amount of free space I've got in the anchor locker too, but that's a job for tomorrow)

Cheers!
It's a shame manufacturers/chandlers don't post sizes on their websites.
The only one I can find that's got it online is the folding Holt anchor which look...erm...like London money for a Chinese product.
Any experience of them?

GJ0KYZ would like that Origami anchor
Would you not consider a small CQR or a Bruce with a tad extra chain, Nos? Have you forgotten how Codprawn could "pull a grapnel through damp sand with one hand"?
Perish the thought!

I'll consider anything that'll fit through the hatch into my locker, but the locker's not very big and the hatch is only 275x375mm so as Ashbypower says-it's a chinese puzzle to get in there.

Hmmm. I'd fiddle about with a 5kg CQR (c/w bendy bit) and a goodly length of 8 milly chain, see how it goes. A CQR will turn all sorts of corners on the way into a locker, so long as the "flukes" will pass the opening... They lie down nicely too and find their own balance, if you get me.
