How does a FRP compare to a RIB. New to the boating space and was looking at a Mercury 470 TM Pro XS as an option as its a very rugged boat. Will be using for freediving/spearfishing and like the space. Can you mount consoles on this type of floor? is it very rugged. thanks again.
As soon as you mount a console it won't fold up anymore. So you'll be forced to put it on a trailer. There are lots of creative ways to put a SIB (it has a soft bottom under the ali floor) on a trailer but if you require a trailer you might want to consider an actual RIB which will handle rougher water better.
SIBs are not great for beaching the fabric under the floor gets beat up by rocks and barnacles
