Launching 5.8 near Bude

Hi I am looking for somewhere to launch our 5.8 from north Cornwall, we have a cottage booked near Bude and I was wondering where the best place would be to launch from. I usually beach launch in north Wales no problem . Any pointers would be much appreciated

Evening, when are you here? Might be able to come say hello, where are you staying?

Bude has a good slipway, if you have a good truck. Concrete but narrow. Can be used 2 hours or so either side of high tide. Appledore is great, especially if you fancy Lundy, take about 35 / 40 mins by car, again only a 2.5 hr window either side but great for all day. That said a run round to Clovelly or Hartland is easily possible in the window.

Boscastle has a good slip, a good truck opens the window as you drop into the river bed, but don't expect anything more then half tide, and parking is a couple of minutes walk away.

For beach, Port Gaverne, its where we launch the dive boat from regularly, sand once off the slip, hard enough but don't sit on tick over!! Usable at all tide states but parking is a real pain. Next along is Rock, launch by the sailing club.

Not alot of other options that are good to use - feel free to pm me a number and happy to talk through

Hi Andy,

That’s really helpful, thank you, we are staying about 5miles inland from Bude on a farm , we are there from the 10th Sept for a week,
I will google all the places you have mentioned, yes parking a Ford Ranger and a trailer is going to be a challenge,

Regards

Nigel
