We have just inflated a 1980 Avon S400. Last outing 82.
We have just got 'Yvonne' (sorry...), An Avon S400 Sportboat down from our parents' loft.
First time she has been out in close to forty years. She had little use and is close to pristine. She is holding air! We'll no doubt have a few questions as we put her back together.
She has an Evinrude 35hp from the same era which has also been stored. Today we tried to put together her galvanised legacy Snipe 'Inflatable' trailer. Alas, we are short a dolly wheel, winch and some other parts. Would love to find a picture of the trailer complete.
She will be moving from the East Sussex mountains to live in Sunbury-On-Thames where we hope to get her back in the wet stuff.
She was bought in Hong Kong in 1980 but never entered the water there. Some N Kent/Thames outings in the early 80s.
