Leaky rib ( air ).

Hi to everyone.
I have just acquired a leaky Excel rib and need to have it repaired professionally I think, as it leaks from behind the rubber side strip ( strake ). I live in the Midlands and use the boat in Cornwall. Does anyone know of any repairers in either of those areas please?

Hi H,thanks for the reply, it’s quite old, I think about 2007, but in good shape otherwise. I did speak to someone at Excel and was advised to get some rib glue but this was before I had proven that it was from behind the strake and they also advised about using a heat gun to lift and reseal it. This sounded like something you needed to have some experience of, and interestingly why would it leak there when you would think that the strake should be sealed unless it damaged the material behind it when it was originally put on, presumably with a heat gun?? Is there anyone out there who has successfully undertaken such repairs? I wil try Excel again for more advice, fortunately I used to live near where they are so know where it is. Cheers.

Without looking at the map central marine serves in Ilkeston junc 26 m1 Jason is the guy he's done some pad eyes for me and spot on he also does stuff for the youth clubs, fire service, environment agency and councils with return work I don't hand out chuck ups lightly but I'm very pleased with the work so far. Price wise I think fair I had two pad eyes plus glue and labour £85
