Hello from Amsterdam

Hello,
My name is Raymond and I have a yellow Revenger 27”, together with my brother in law. We bought it last year without motor, so now we are looking for a 225-300 hp. There is a little doubt about two or fourstroke. Two stroke sounds great and I prefer them, but motors <2004 are not allowed in Amsterdam. So if we buy a 2006 for example then the question is till what time can we go to the cannels of Amsterdam. Not that we do it often, the IJsselmeer and the north sea will be the prefered aeria.
I’ve owned a Osprey Lynx 24” with a 225 Optimax, That one I’ve sold a few years ago. With a little bit of regret later. And now my brother in law came with the yellow rev. As soon as I saw it i said Yes! She is from England, I believe it is imported to Holland in 2006. Click image for larger version

Traded in my previous ETEC 250 with a lower unit failure and replaced it with a G2 250 H.O. .
The motor has 400h on the clock and never let me down before the gear box failed .
It’s up for sale now in Roermond at Snellens Watersport / Evinrude dealer after the gearbox was overhauled .
This guy knows his stuff .

Hi ray68, nice rib!
You wont beat the power to weight ratio of an e -tec thats for sure
Running a 2006 225 and a 2012 one too
Also a too a 250 hp Suzuki 'learn burn', to be honest if I was going to replace any I think it would be hard to choose. They both have their virtues
Great place Zandam, stayed there Christmas 2015 and 16. You have a great network of waters to choose from there. Good Luck!

Really !..... It failed with only 400hrs on it ?

That'd would be the last engine I'd buy from that manufacturer.

No issue with the motor - hit something with the prop and gearbox failed .
This ETEC was used for many very long distance cruises (round Britain / Ireland / Scotland and others ) and never let me down .
Replaced by an G2 250 H.O.
LOVED the G1 already but the G2 is another league !
Great motor , have a good dealer and diagnostic software „in case of..“
Would not change for any other outboard brand
