G'day from Tasmania
We're a volunteer marine rescue group based in Swansea (pop 1,000), on the east coast of Tasmania adjacent to Great Oyster Bay and the Freycinet Peninsula. Compared to most VMR operations we run pretty low key - read low budget! - but we have saved a few people who might not otherwise have made it back to shore. We've just bought a 11 year old 6.25m Cobia Enforcer RIB from Marine Rescue New South Wales - a state government supported organisation that runs over 100 vessels. Our RIB powered by twin 90 Honda's with 1200+ hours. Having had very little experience with RIBs
, and never owning one, we're joining here to read and learn.
