Flares and CO2 to Mallorca

Does any one have experience of getting flares and Co2 canisters over to Mallorca. As I have been quoted stoopid money from a local shop over their.

Depends how you're travelling, overland, no problem. By air, you should be able to get the co2 cylinders across, flares no chance.

I have been stopped before with CO2 on aircraft had them confiscated, did ague that you have hundreds already on board for the life jacket under the seats............ they would not accept it. But I did receive compo by writing to the MD telling him how ridiculous it was.

If you look on the RYA website, there's info & advice about flying with lifejackets

You could always write to the MD before you go this time, and tell him to get his staff clued up😃

Although you can take a couple on board planes, sending them as a parcel means dangerous goods handling/documentation @ £££. Flares probably impossible at any realistic cost. Road/sea probably not much better.

I recently saw a report on undeclared dangerous goods packages taken off planes and lifejackets featured quite frequently.

You could print off the RYA and IATA guidelines and wave them at security.
