Zodiac Cadet RIB 270 ALU Prop size

I need propeller size recommendations, I have a brand new Cadet RIB 270 Aluminum Hull PVC with a 1995 Mercury 9.9 2 Smoker (15 HP Block) right now I'm running a 9 Pitch, topping out at 28 MPH with just me, 6 gallons of fuel and some throwable and life jackets, so a lighter load, but I'm looking for better top speed, fuel economy and cruise speed, I have a 10 Pitch Stainless Steel propeller on order and I wonder if that'll improve my top end by a little bit, Right now I'm running a 9 Pitch Aluminum, Both are three bladed.

Hi and welcome to the forum. I've had a few examples of that motor and they're great. Always kept to the standard 9" pitch but never had it on a hull as slippery as yours is likely to be. So yes it may be you get a better overall result from a 10" and the stainless could help a bit too.

However as we always advise you need to fit a cheap TinyTach so you know your revs to see if you are/will be making near max revs but not over-revving.

Yeah I have a Tiny-Tach installed on the motor, I'm gonna run tests with both props once the boat's back in, with my 9P im getting 6100 RPM, I wanna down it by about 100 RPM or more while getting more top speed.
