Yer welcome. Your chair looks like one of Arne Jacobsen's. I have a flight of his bespoke water glasses, designed and produced for St. Catherine's College, Oxford. Nice kit - pinched, obviously...

Nice glasses, but water!!!!! A Crested 10 and a lump ice would be much more appropriate.
Did he ever produce glass ware for retail? I always assumed it was only furniture.

Google his work in St. Catherine's - he even did the cutlery. I have to admit I've only ever taken Whisky from those glasses that are resting in my cupboard...

Could you put a couple of bits of string from the front of the seat to the top of the back to reduce the load on the 'hinge'.

Hi Guy, that's exactly what I have done today. 25mm black webbing each side of the seat, base to back. Now fully painted, just waiting for them to dry. I'll pad and cover the seats tomorrow and they will be finished, apart from some SS drop nose pins (thanks Jeff or Dave) which haven't arrived in the post yet. I'll hopefully post pics of the finished seats tomorrow.

Well I never knew! Always favoured the simplistic, functional but elegant furniture designs, but I never knew anything about St Catherines College Oxford.

Been in tier 3 for a couple of weeks now which may as well be lockdown as I don't go to the beauticians or the gym and avoid shopping like the plauge

Seats finished, painted, padded and covered. Hopefully they will work as well when out on the water as I expect them to.

Thanks Willk / Dave, as I've already said I hope they work as they should when out on the water. I'm hopeful that they will, both Di and I have sat on them and leaned back as far as we dare without the benches being attached to anything.
When fitted in the SIB the two benches will be braced together to counter act the tendency for the seats to tip backwards.

Couple of weeks off (doing some paid work!!) before starting project 3.

Going off topic entirely - I used to frequent a pub near you on Sunday evenings - the Game Bird in Chorley.

The "Bird on the Game" that you're thinking about Dave, was in Wigan not Chorley!
