Huh... boot liners. Been trying to find something that will flop nicely and stay in place for the large loadspace of the day van. First one arrived nothing like advertised shape or dimensions... second choice when asked to confirm it would look and measure as per listing answer was too much trouble to unwrap and check.

Now thinking of a custom dimension office foyer barrier mat type thing. Mind you the cost for a proper one is such I'll need another mat over to protect it.

It is full rubber. With being in the back of the truck I don't notice any smell, but now you mention it, it did stink when I first got it.

I had really bad luck and got a scape on my Honwave while up at new England Bay last year. it was from a shape road stone on the boat wash area of all places. It was just bad luck.

I carry a old carpet with me now. it doubles up as a carpet for my campervan awning and something for the boat if I need it.

on the water my boats get dragged onto all types of beaches and floated around many rocks with no problems.

What's New England Bay like? Are there quite a few places to explore/go? Do you stay on the C&MC site?

What about the breathable groundsheet you get for caravan awnings?
Very soft and lies flat easily. Not very thick but could be doubled up if more protection needed.

Thanks for the thought. In the end I found an office entrance barrier mat type thing in a very close grey to the vehicle carpets so ordered that in a custom size to exactly cover all the area I wanted. It has the usual 2cm rubber lip all round which is ideal to trim to the very slight curves of the side trim. Going to take about ten days to make.

One reason to get something super heavy is that the seating rails extend into what is now load area and they would not cover easily with anything insubstantial. Also I want to be able to slide heavyish loads in such as a bagged SIB and have the mat stay in place.
