Question about battery?

I just got a sea eagle se9 watersnake motor canopy package. But it doesn,t come with a battery. So what size battery do i need and does it matter that much watt? The motor is Water Snake Venom 34 (34 lb. thrust, 30" shaft)

thank you

I guess it depends how long/far you want to go with it. My 55lb trolling motor will go for well over 2 hours with a 110ah 12v leisure battery from Amazon, about £80. But you could go smaller/lighter I assume with a 34lb motor. What does the manufacturer's site/reviews say?

Just looked at the online manual for the trolling motor; it has no recommendation on size of battery. Might be a case of trial and error to find something to balance size and endurance.

I see you are in the US, I picked up a Walmart deep cycle battery for $100 for my 55lbs on my 9.5' sib. It lasts for hours and hours at 1/2 throttle... Still the same price online but you can probably pick it up locally "EverStart Maxx Marine Battery, Group Size 29DC"
From what I have read they are made by Johnson Controls, same as an Interstate.

I am pretty sure you are correct. I have a few Optimas, one in my truck and 2 on my boat and love them. Have been using them for over a decade.
