I couldn't care less what size boat people have and I realise there is a sib section. I was trying to point out that his hissy fit was fairly unfounded if based on reply stats. considering the majority of members on the forum are rib owners they would not have an informed view of the thread question so unlikely to reply (as vague as the question was anyway).

he/she needs to lighten up to having few replies. As said, having a go at members isn't going to encourage them is it!

Yea, I spent a very enjoyable weekend in the research station accommodation on Wilson's Prom, it's a special place - southernmost mangroves swamp, etc. I have nice pics but they're on Kodachrome 25, God help me, so I can't share. I very nearly wrapped a Ford Falcon on the way down.

Granted, it was 1987, but I found the other 15,999,999 Aussies a bit more relaxed than our one

After all, I usually spill more fuel than that at the pumps...

Okay, lessons learnt.

1) Don't express being surprised that 200 people could view a post and you didn't get any feedback on why its not good practice to travel with the outboard on your transom on the road. - check

2) It's apparently considered throwing a 'hissy fit' to state this, and say that i'll call local boat shops for the desired information. - check

3) It's okay for forum members to have a jab, make lame jokes etc, but not okay for me to call them on it because that's considered insulting forum members and not a good way to get answers. - check

4) I should title my questions clearly, and be descriptive as to the nature of my enquiry. - check

5) Stating i have used x-amount of fuel apparently means i want people tell me i have a magical outboard. - check

6) This is ribnet, not sibnet, should not expect answers to sib related questions as most members to this site have rigid hulls. - check

7) There are some forum members who genuinely give great feedback and help others from around the world learn the art of SIBing, regardless of their uncouth ribnet etiquette. There are others who expect people visiting ribnet to understand its culture, and follow its protocol. - check

again thanks to those that didn't take the easy road exercising their 'so called' sense of humor, but rather offered insight. to these people i would say you are why people who arent in England or perhaps America would use this site.

you learn something new everyday, i'm more than happy to be considered the Aussie who wasn't amused by the English wit/humor, i'll certainly take it with a grain of salt.

cheers

You've spent more time ranting about this forum than you have seeking advice....

no. 7 is meant to read 'my uncouth ribnet etiquette'

gold star for you bigmuz7, missed that one

8) use forum for seeking advice in a respectable manner, sit and wait, do not state observations as this will most likely get on peoples nerves and be called 'ranting, rudeness or even a hissy fit' and you'll end up with 3 pages of jokes, jabs and sarcasm and still holding the same question. - check

Perhaps we need to start using the sarcasm punctuation mark that is floating the net? An addition to the smilie faces available, or perhaps just put after a sarcastic post so all are aware of intended humour!

Eg why does clipper care about mpg, the rest don't with their v8s, that Australian probably didn't pay for his fuel anyway, being the spawn of criminals we dumped there in the first place!

Hated by all unanimously.

In fact is there any race/country that likes the English? (other than yanks! Our special relationship with us as the little pet dog! Grr)

Aren't we in the bilges yet???

I give up then, any further pushing of the boundaries to get in the bilges would likely result in exclusion from posting...... I'll leave that to willk!

If I had the cruising ground, weather, fuel price and mpg problem of clipper I wouldn't be posting....I'd be out on the water!

Eg why does clipper care about mpg, the rest don't with their v8s - what does that mean? mpeg? as in pictures? or is that an acronym for fuel? either way i am an immigrant, so i only moved to criminal dumping ground not born here.
