Dog buoyancy aids

We had one for our old dog which wasn't perfect and a bit tatty so chucked it when we lost him.

New pup will be going to sea soon so time to buy him one.

Any thoughts re a best type? He has longer woolly coat so anything with velcro closings is a pain as it sticks to their coat and pulls at them... also I think some are cut away so a male dog can pee which would be good.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Our old Manchester is seen here sporting a life jacket by EzyDog. Convenient handle on top.

Dobermann has a nice ladylike version of the same.
Both have waterproof collars. Salt water rots stitching on leather collars.

Edited original post. I don't think Ruffwear and EzyDog are connected. These are by EzyDog. Very soft underneath. No rubbing when they swim. No impediment to our boy's pee stream.

No they seem different... Ruffwear are often £85+... Ezydog £40ish and usually an easy buy at PetsatHome.

Anyway just as hard to buy a lifejacket for a small/medium dog as a popular SIB or 15hp 2-stroke. Ezydog out of stock in the size we need in every outlet I could find online. My second choice of a Crewsaver was similarly hard to find stock but eventually got one on order from Marine Superstore £39.95.

Lets hope he like it!

Mine is still very unsure of the water still so may not use it much after the first couple of attempts, so went for the £16 Amazon one my record of getting the sizes right is not good so fingers crossed
