Hard to find leak

I was loosing some pressure on the rear starboard side of my inflatable boat. Try to find it with soapy water but a wasn't able to located it. It is a very slow leak. I was suspecting the overpressure valve (Mirada B-51343-1). Someone suggest me to tape a plastic bag around it (and make sure that the temperature don't increase for the next days...) and see if the bag inflate. Well well well, i finally find it!
Now is ther something I can do or I must replace the (expensive!) overpressure valve?

You might be able to take it apart and clean it, or just blow it out gently with well regulated compressed air, but I am not familiar with that brand. A tiny piece of sand could be the issue.

Expensive valve?? I would call under $40 CHEAP for boat parts.

I tried to clean it, i have to wait to the evening, when the temperature drop, to make the test.
I'm also looking for a cheaper supplier, I looked rapidly to have and idea of the price and the Inflatable Boat Shop ask 149.98 $CAN for it (roughfly 113,50$US).

I ran a quick google search before my first post. I am sure there are other websites than this one. https://www.gghyd.com/regulators-frl...mum-close.html

Finally a good clean with a little bit of marine grease did the job.
After 2 days my test bag still flat.
Final score:
Me with the help of RIBnet (specially Peter C) : 1
Very small but still annoying leak: 0

Great job! Just a heads up that the Mirada PRV is built to a specific open/close pressure setting. You can’t take then apart to clean them. The best you can do is clean them manually as you did but make sure to never twist the inner portion that is seated on the threaded post. That will change the pressure setting.

Good call on the grease! That always tends to help if the leak was in the threads of the flange.

Hi Chris !
Lot of fun, perfect size for me since I often go alone or with the grand kids so I can put it in the water alone. Don't use it I often as I want because my new part time job with the Coast Guard is mostly in the summer. (I'm officially retired as a firefighter).
Best regards,
Claude

I had a valve that just had crusted sea water salt with sand in it. I had the service department take the valve apart soak in hot warm water with dish soap. He cleaned the threads on valve and valve insert and it was ok after. You can do same and see if it works. By the way they felt sorry for me as it was so simple so they did all 5 valves and only charged me $25.
