MSC Jumper & Power Bank

Greetings!
I was thinking of buying an MSC Overland Waterproof Car Jumper & Power Bank for my rib.
Im thinking it could be a small, lightweight backup if the battery develops a problem. To get the outboard started. Its a suzuki 4 stroke 50hp.
I'm not at all auto-electrically minded, which doesn't help. I have a few questions and would be very grateful for your thoughts and advice please.
1. Assuming it has the power to jump start the outboard, doesnt the outboard need a constant source of power to continue running?
2. Would i connect it to the battery terminals, like you would when you jump a car? And could I leave it connected whilst I return to port?
3. Do you have any experience or views on these types of jump starter please

Thank you in advance for your help and advice

They should start your 50, although they dont look man enough they give a considerable zap for their size. Once started the engine should charge of its own accord & most older engines will run with no battery connected although im not 100% on whether your Suzuki will but I'd expect it to

1: depends why battery went flat, if battery is failed it may drag down the charging and on board electrics outboard should charge battery while running (check engine specs)

2: yes

3 noco have a good reputation buy one from somewhere that the warranty is easy to implement

Don't you have a manual pull-start? Bit of a phaf, but cheaper (and lighter) than carrying something like that.

Im getting on a bit and dont fancy having to do it manually. The jumper fits in a pocket and weighs 489g. It can also power an air pump or such like.

Was in Lidl earlier they had a 4 in 1 power bank jump starter for £60 3 yr warranty looked a little bulkier having tyre inflator etc built in but if you need such a thing seemed handy enough

Thank you. Will take a look tomorrow. Having an integral air pump could be useful if I need to re-inflate a tube. Rather than having a separate air pump.

tyre inflator type pumps will not be a very good solution to re inflate boat tubes as there air delivery is not best suited ie most are high pressure low volume where as to inflate boat tubes you would be better with high volume low pressure. top and bottom is a car tyre inflator would work but is not ideal and you would be quicker with the foot pump .

Fair comment and a very good point.
I do have a foot pump. One of the reasons I carry it is if I ever need to partially deflate one of the tubes to get a person back on board, I can re-inflate it. (The school I took my RYA PB level 2 course with told me about this. For larger or weaker people who might struggle otherwise). I've got a boarding ladder but you'd be surprised how much effort that can take if you're not reasonably fit and healthy.
I was thinking of making it easier for myself.
I do have a low pressure high volume pump, which the jump starter could power. Its just a judgement call as to how much kit you take against the potential advantage of having it.
I may well just use the foot pump.
Thanks again

I just got back from Lidl, searched the middle isles 3 times, no jumpstart packs. Figured as they were open well before 10am the the limited amount must have sold already. Got to the checkout with my other purchases before spotting a manager who when asked said he had some in the store room. Fat lot of good they are there
He got me one and I inspected it when at home, its just 3000mAh @ 12 vdc the 12000mAh rating is @3.7vdc I did wonder how they got that from such a small package. Enough to start a willing car with a good but flat normal battery still but I doubt it will feed an air pump for long if at all for the boat. I'm not about to trial it as this is for my daughter to save her borrowing Dads every time she has a flat battery.
Oh and one other thing, it comes in a nice zip up case with all the attachments but its such a tight fit that its real difficult to get it out to use it. A lady will loose nails before its available to use, so I put a webbing strap in the case behind the battery pack to pull the pack from the case with, much easier but still a tight fit.
