Chartplotter to radio ???.

Hi fellars

I am trying to re-fit my chart plotter (garmin 450s) to my radio (garmin vhf100) the manuals are really confusing I cannot get the radio to accept GPS fix inf, can anyone help please? I chose both garmin units to keep things simple ;-(

VHF pstn I/p is all you need so thats vhf purple(+) to plotter blue (nmea port 1 out +) and vhf gray (-) to GPS gnd / DC -ve (black wire same as battery -ve)

Same diagram is in Garmin Manual.

Also need to check data output format is correct under CONFIG.

Not sure data return from radio to GPS is required because radio has nothing to "tell" GPS.

Position info from a DSC mayday/pan or reply from a position request can be displayed on the plotter.
