Zodiak Cherokee information wanted

Dear All:

I have already bought a second hand Zodiak "Cherokee" 4.35 mts. without engine.

Could anybody tell me if a 25 hp 2 stroke, is power enought to
move it.

Thanks in advance for all comments concerning this boat

Nicolas from Uruguay.

Nicolas,

The 25 is rather too small for the boat. It could be on plane easily with one or two passengers on board but that's it. No extra weights and of course not a high top speed. Best horse power for that boat is 50.

I'm with our Greek Batman on this one. I do not know what outboard prices are like in Uruguay, but make enquiries about the Yamaha 50hp four-stroke and stick a s/s prop on it.
