OEM Fuel filters are a lot of money.

Can't I use a small car / motorbike one like in the pic attaced?

No real reason why you cant use an aftermarket filter of the correct type however You realy dont want to be relying on the under hood filter nowadays. You realy need a proper external fuel/water separator filter something like this https://www.asap-supplies.com/produc...s-sm-18-7852-1
Modern fuel systems wont tolerate water ingress the way older two strokes would. Filtration is much more important nowadays.

If you have an external filter the under hood one is almost redundant I'd have no problem using an aftermarket filter in that case
