I would check the pricing and warranty on each, I know that Evinrude were doing a deal where you got 5 years warranty. Don't have any experience with Tohatsu, but had two old Ficht Evinrudes which gave good service and now two Etecs which are great.

Good luck.

What's your main use for the SR4?

The e-tec is a twin cylinder, while the Twatsoo is a triple. I'd expect the triple to give better response, if that's important to you.

my personal preference would be the twatsooo, based on the fact that more cylinders is smoother, and twatsooo seem to have a good really good name.
But i am biased in my opinion because i worked on lots of 70's and 80's Rudes years ago and that really put me off em!
also the tohatsu is considerably lighter.

The e-tec may be too heavy for the SR4 - not sure the max transom weight, but it's only 120kg on a SR4.7.
