Rough Gear Change

I am after some advise, before my last trip out I loaded up the boat with everything for the day, and this included kids. Now the kids got asked to sit and wait for us to launch - but when I went to arrange the launch and with the excitement of the days boating they pretended to drive - this involved plenty of tugging on the morse control, from full forward to full reverse. When I got back I told them to leave the controls alone and all seemed fine.

Now this may just be over thinking/worrying but the gear change now seems more clunky and changes with a pronounced thud. We did a full weekend on the boat, and it never missed a beat, had no grinding when selecting gears and no other reason to worry.

(Gear lube was done a few months ago - and had a few trips since)

Is there anything I need to check for damage / bent?

That's my worry. Normally they will go one way without a problem. But not both, unless you have some 4year olds hanging off it.

Think when I'm next down I will take cowl off and make sure it all looks ok.

Steve - when you next out?
