Motor Weight

Hi guys i just bought a boat its a Grand silver line 420
But the max of motor weight on the back of the boat is 115KG
But the motor is a Mercury 40HP 4Cilinder wich weighs 118KG
And thats only Dry weight
Is that to much weight for the boat or not?

I stand to be corrected but I don't think it's that exacting. I've been suprised to see dealers sending out new boats technically outside the rated capacity. It will be fine. Obviously if a small SIB, different matter.

Not sure your weights are right Mercury 40 efi is 98kg and a 60hp is 112kg according to Barrus who are the importers.

I think he's got the older heavier 4cyl motor, I had a new one and they are 3cyl.

just looked at Mercury site, yes they do a 4cyl 40hp, and it is 118kg, cannot understand why it is heavier than a 60hp thats same cc and cylinders at 112kg
