I went on a Mermaid owner’s club engine course last weekend and I must it was very good.
It covered all the basics and it was great to be taught by an engineer who actually did the work. It was the ‘from the horses’ mouth’ tips that really made the course and to stand beside a similar engine to your own and have things pointed out to you beats hours spent leafing through a manual.
I have two reasons for posting this:-
1) anyone who has a Mermaid should joint the owners club (£15) and go on this course (£85) and
2) Do other engine manufacture offer the same thing and if not why not
I should point out that the owners club although run from Mermaids office is viewed by Mermaid as a separate entity
