Fuel constantly leaking

Hi, Appreciate any wisom from members regarding fuel leaking from my Tohatsu 30mfsb. The engine starts and runs well, however fuel is leaking from an outlet tube shown in attachment whether the engine is running or not.Only closing the fuel tank valve stops the fuel escaping.Click image for larger version

Cant see where you mean in the pics but if your engine is a carb model. I would suggest one or more of the following:

1) Float in one of the float Chambers stuck in the down position
2) Float in one of the float chambers split and full of fuel so it does not float and cut off the fuel supply (This is the most likely one)
3) Gasket between float bowl and main carb leaking
4) Perished of broken/Split fuel line

Remember most carbs have an overflow on them designed to let petrol out if the float does not shut of the flow.

Hope some of this helps

Quick solution would be to tape a empty lemonade bottle under the leak to catch the excess fuel.......................just saying

Is the tube open to the air at the end we can't see & the fuel is just spraying out of the open end?
Has it become disconnected from something?

Is that the vapour separator? It does have some sort of float or check valve which can stick. If I remember correctly the manual says something about draining it before storage but unhelpfully doesn’t tell you how!

First up the picture is upside down!

I know nowt about 4-strokes, but according to parts diagrams Poly it's an air vent assembly, part 67, which leads onto a rather expensive part called the vapour separator assembly which sounds like something from Back to the Future!

https://www.boats.net/catalog/tohats...su/fuel-system

Got a video of it running? Is it just a loose hose or is it the air vent itself?

Thanks for all the replies.Sorry image was upside down!
All sorted ,not leaking now.Below the black filter is indeed a vapour separator. This has a float mechanism inside which can stick to open allowing fuel to flow freely out tube and drain into sea.
There is a easily found drainage screw at bottom right of vapour separator with drainage hose attached. To release float, drain the seperator via screw and then retighten.Prime with fuel line bulb as fast as possible to force fuel into seperator.
Failing this open vapour seperator (easy access via screws) and clean float etc.Lastly a good jiggle with the rib on a road trailer should release float!
Again,thanks for all replies.
