carb removal yam 15hp

hi all, been away for a while so hope you are all keeping well.

My 15hp Yam 2 stroke won't idle & I think the carb needs a clean. Plugs ok & fresh fuel in. Runs ok but when idling just splutters & stops.

My auto mechanic mate will clean it for me but I have to remove it! I had a look & it seems a bit beyond me, having no service manual.

Should I have a go or take it to the dealer?

If DIY could anyone offer simple instructions on how to remove without damaging anything, I really like the OB.

Thanks in advance

Easy... Is a five minute job.

Remove Choke and throttle clips/screws. Remove fuel line (either from pump or carb) Undo the two 'ten' mm bolts on the front of the black air-box whilst holding the carb and air-box in place. Then the carb should just be able to slide out sideways...

To make things easier you can remove the starter recoil by unscrewing the three 'ten' mm bolts on top of the engine...

Hope this helps.
