Are Yam and Merc props...

Are Yam and Merc props...interchangable with one another. My Yam has a standard 15 tooth spline?

Do I need a modified thrust washer as well?

I'd quite like to know if other brands of prop will fit my 70hp tohatsu and if so what ones!

AFAIK they are not directly interchangeable but I think you can get an adaptor to fit. Not sure about the thrust washer though!

Edit: I think it may depend on which way the interchange goes. I think you can get an adaptor to make a Merc prop fit a Yam but not sure about the other way round. I think Pete7 may know more!

Tim, how many splines have you on your Tohatsu? And what the id of the bore and od of the shaft because I could tell you if it's the same as a Yam.

We had a 21inch merc prop that fitted stright on to our 100 hp Yamaha
Still got the new yamaha 19in never used , i know that yamaha make a lot of stuff for Merc power heads etc, maybe its gos as far as props.
