Flying the flag for RIBnet

I find there are far more important things in life to worry about than a forum.

+1 I actually like Ribnet for all the reasons a few delicate types lambast it (but oddly, still join in!) one mans meat is another's nut cutlet. If you want an over moderated BORING forum, try the Evinrude owners board.
Over the years I've been on the wrong end of the mods, I've had my legs slapped & posts deleted. Did I have a hissy fit & flounce off? Nope! Why? 'cos I'm a big boy now & all growed up😄
As my daughter would say "FFS, grow a pair & use 'em" You can take the girl out of Barnsley.........

Everyone has been listened to and their concerns have been considered. Some people are not satisfied with the outcome, but they will need to decide whether or not RIBnet is the place for them.

I'm still trying to figure the problem people are all up in arms about. People who's positions or opinions are questioned seem to take offense at that questioning. Isn't that the point of a "discussion forum"? I haven't seen any name calling or such in those posts that I would consider out of bounds. I try to make fun of it but I've always believed you folks over there have a higher tolerance of what's banter. Perhaps i was wrong.

As for over moderated this is one of the least moderated sites I've ever been on. the actual moderation: warnings, bannings, thread locking or deletion are very few and far between.

I think people are confusing the moderators discussion participation with with their job. "A moderator disagreed with me". Over moderation!!!!

Jason

No, I banned him for being abusive. I should have done it last time really, but cut him some slack instead. Hey ho.

somebody got banned and I missed it? Doh, just the thing for a boring day at work, somebody else's pain. Perhaps I'm not paying enough attention and that's why I don't see the issue....

Secret mods don't work. People pick fights with the MIDs public persona, then get banned/deleted/moderated/slapped by mod. You will gain a whole host of 'is xyz Mod3 coz I slagged off xyz and got a ban from Mod3'.

I don't understand what all the fuss is about... if you get a straight and direct answer why is it taken to be rude, some people are diplomatic by nature (like me) and others may come over as being straight laced.... if the latter offends just ignore it or give em some stick " .

The other solution is to feck off.... simples ...

Comparing the mod team to nazis will do the trick on most forums.

I understand the point you are trying to make, but it's a battle you can't win.

There's fook all wrong with modding here .. some folks will always take offence .. sometimes you has to just take a line , and that be that , .. sure I'd rip the arse out of a few more topics .. but I get modded every time

Its the way it is on this forum .. if you dont like it you go else where. Its always a tough decision for those making the call to regulate it , but I'd support what I see, and TBH there are hours of work that go unseen by regular users, that get put in by 'volunteer' mods where often there will be hours of 'off' screen thought go into making a reply to a subject, just to offer reason, or an alternative perspective, so, modding isnt just about banning people, its about moving discussions productively, and generating quality content

right .. I'm off ... somebody mentioned quality content .. the 6 nations thread needs spammed
