1991 Flatacraft Magnum with trailer and Evinrude 40
Any questions, just call. 07935 235 437. Viewings really recommended to see just how practical and different it is.
So, this is our lovely Flatacraft Magnum rib. I bought it a couple of years ago and it was a great introduction for us to Ribs. We use it lots. It's comfy, quick and happy to pull a ring etc. The trailer alone is worth a couple of grand. It's an indespension galvanised trailer with tilting rollers. It will also extend to take a bigger boat than this.
The lovely thing about this RIB is that you sit low down in it behind the screen and with your feet undercover which means you are really shielded from spray and the wind which means we have used it year round. Especially good if you want to bring kids out. We also have used a jockey seat style rib and this leaves you more exposed to the elements. Side by side seating is really social too,
We always take it out of the water and wash and flush it after every use. It sits in our front garden covered up when not in use. The trailer is washed after every use and the hubs are regularly greased.
It's a 1991 Boat with a 1991 Evinrude 40 hp 2 stroke engine. The engine has hydraulic trim and tilt which is controlled both on the engine and from the remote drivers throttle. Remote steering also, no tiller arm.
4m Long. Long enough to still make it easy to handle but can cope with most conditions. Plenty of room inboard for 4 people and picnic / swim gear etc.
I added this motor as the boat only had an 8hp when I got it. I also added the chart plotter, speedometer, switch panel, new wiring, new power cables. inline fuel filter and water seperator and Battery. All make it really reliable and practicle.
Flatacraft were a british boat builder in the 1980's and 1990s. Known for fast manoeuvrable boats like the GT. The magnum is almost exactly the same but with a spray deck.
Electric engine start (no pulling a cord) and interchangeable 30liter fuel tanks in the bow means it's simple to use and a comfy place to be.
I have been using it in the sea but obviously great for rivers and lakes too.
This boat is really quite quick and will top out at about 36 knots. Will go on plane from about 9 knots.
The evinrude 2 stroke engine is light for a 40 hp. Its responsive and runs well. It's a VRO engine but I have removed the VRO pump and replaced with a standard pump so it runs on pre mix 50:1 2 stroke. I still have the VRO if you want to put it back in.
The boat has a Lowrance Elite 5m chartplotter, seperate speedo, Nav lights, cabin (under bow spray deck cover) lights. Hydraulic trim tilt with new hydraulic pump.
I have been using full Navionics maps with the Chartplotter.
It was at one stage a Tender for a large mega yacht / recreational cruiser so it has the davitt connection points if you wanted to put it onto something larger or lift it out of the water.
Comfortably seats 4 people. My son is over 6ft 4 and drives or passengers happily.
The back to back seats also fold flat into 2 day beds so you can anchor up, lie back and take in some sun!!
Will tow skis or a ring.
The boat was originally blue with a blue interior but the previous owner painted it black.
The trailer is a Galvanised, Indespension trailer and in good condition. Tows really well and is not too heavy. I can move the boat and trailer around single handed.
Really happy for people to come and have a look and we can put it into the water for a test run if necessary. Also happy to run the engine on hose connection.
Tubes are Hypalon, super strong and hold air really well. I have partially deflated them at the moment so they dont overpressure if the sun comes out.
We have used it to go to the beach, nip down to portsmouth or the Isle of wight, swim off, and tour around chichester harbour.
The hull is in great condition, just a little dirty from the rollers on the trailer. (Must clean it and take a new pic.)
Any questions at all, or if you want more pictures, just call me. 07935 235437.
