Hi Whisper

Caught mine from a light spinning reel, with a lure bought from the local fishing shop and some good advice from a friend. I thought I'd caught a whale so I will be buying a bigger rod and reel. It tasted lovely.

Chers

Never underestimate the power of a SIB.

Having said that - I've had some interesting moments this summer landing mackerel with flailing hooks in the boat. I realise with a sib the odd puncture is inevitable if fishing but I'm trying to keep the 'how to patch a pvc tube' search delayed as long as poss.

Cheers

Yes Willk

Thanks for those words of wisdom. I have a very large plastic bucket for that purpose but it's still heart stopping stuff trying to get the blighters in and dispose of them as huimanely as poss.

Cheers

Well I tried to weigh him but the scales wouldn't go up that far!

Anybody in the "know" got any idea what he ways approx. I put him on a dinner dish to give you an idea of size. I do like sushi but not like that!

Caught them all at Bramble Bank (South side) using a Pennel rig, size 6/0 hooks, I did use the stuffed squid method but we only had rag worm and only caught dogfish on that.

All three cod were caught on the same rig as above with a whole unwashed squid that we bought frozen.

All caught on penn rods and reels (sponsorship penn?) the ABU only caught doggies
