Capturing TV for youtube

As we feature on TV tomorrow night, I would like to capture our bit and post it on Youtube. We can then put a link on the website, so that it can be viewed.
So other than setting up a camera in front of the TV (which never works well), what would be the best way to go about this?

Thanks
Steve

If you have sky plus there must be a way that you can remove it from sky plus and put it onto a computer but i'm not sure. I'll have a google search. (having just looked it looks like the dvd option below is easiest) but there is always http://www.skycopyplus.co.uk/ although i've not tried it.

If it was me i would probably use the dvd recorder (if you have one) and then use an editor on the computer.

its a possible anyway.

Unfortunately the USB ports on the Sky+ are duds. In the future that will be a great way to transfer stuff. If you happen to have a TV with an SD card reader built in then that is a good way we have used quite a bit (5 yr old Panasonic).

DVD recorder would be easiest but we don't have one and you may not either I guess. The most practical way would probably be to download it from 4OD after the event - there are loads of softwarey things out there to do so.

Thanks for the ideas, I think I have an old dvd recorder in the loft I will try to drag down for tomorrow and there may be an SD slot in the Sony Bravia we have.
Will use 4OD will be the back up.
Mrs T was a scream for a short period, as mad as a hatter! But as the others had been in her company for over 10days, they had had enough, such that when she got back on the minibus, they sat on the pavement rather than join her. She was very proud to be the first person to be charged and sent to prison for picking mushrooms back in the 80's

Well that seemed to go well! Some great feedback that made our day.
It was nice to see a brief shot of Nester and Pete M, without whom it would not have been possible.
Anyway, the DVD would not record, so will try to grab it from 4OD

We just watched it! Great footage of Steve's boat and Nestor too!

Really enjoyed it, especially as I have been on both boats thanks to generous Ribnet members.

Well done
