Hi, I added you to the list - you should be able to edit it yourself here http://bit.ly/XKWPro

The list is just to capture an expression of interest. Everyone is welcome anyway, list or not. It is just a way to see who's likely to come for those who are nosey, and a way to bring together some of the info on this thread.

Met a few people this week with RIBS who are not on here and didn't know about this Cruise. Were very interested to join in, so spread the word, would be good to make this the RIB event of the year (except Anglesey Round Island Cruise of course )

Not long to go now

Flotilla!

Weather Permitting!

The main RV will be just outside Wootton Creek, Isle of Wight on the 26th May 2013 and we will be leaving there at 10:00am Sharp! and going clockwise around the island.

We will take a quick look at Whitecliff Bay before arriving at Ventnor and if the weather is suitable we will be stopping at Ventnor for lunch.

As the harbour cannot berth the amount of boats that have shown an interest in this cruise we will have to anchor off Ventnor Beach and use a few boats to ferry people into the harbour. (please make sure that your anchor is suitable for a stay of approximately 1.5 hours).

If you want to go ashore, once on land you can have a picnic on the beach or there are pubs and cafes along the seafront but as we only have an hour here it's best to choose an option that can deliver your meal in enough time for you to eat and get back to the harbour by 13:00 so that you can be ferried back to your boat.

If it is a calm day some may opt to stay afloat and maybe try a little fishing?

Once we set off again we will be rounding St Catherine’s Point and then calling into Freshwater Bay.

Once we are all caught up and back together again we will take a slow cruise around together to the Needles where we will take a group photograph.

I guess our friends from Poole may want to head back at this point but for the rest we will call at Alum Bay to have a look at the coloured rocks before we give people the option of a fuel stop at Yarmouth.

Once we leave Yarmouth we will head up the Solent towards Cowes for those who want to visit there but I will be waving goodbye outside Cowes and heading home to recover at Calshot.

Regards

Alex

Will see if family will come & join Flotilla for the day - would be coming from Chichester so might join in near Bembridge to avoid much back tracking.

Room for one more?

VHF Channel 08

There will be several meet up locations on route, Poole, Christchurch, Lymington & Yarmouth, Itchen, Hamble & Calshot. We need to make our own arrangement for meeting up and traveling with each other from our launch locations and may be to help each other out.

The main RV for the above starting points will be outside Wootton Creek before we set off at 10am then rounding No Mans Land Fort (picking up those from Portsmouth area) and then passing Bembridge.

I have planned several short stops at Whitecliff Bay, lunch at Ventnor and more stops at Freshwater and the Needles to keep the flotilla together
