Hello Ribnet

I'm a new member and novice poster. On reading of your planned trip to Arklow in June I decided to register. If you need a contact here I would happy to help out in any way.

Its All gone quite ?

ive been having a lookover this and its not as dounting as it first sounded

the run over to Arklow looks to be around 52 miles (not nm)from Bardsey Island so your only 26 miles from land at any one time and with a good turn out then there shouldn't be a problem if we all buddy up and stick to it

im assummig that we can get fuel at Arklow ?

i dont know what my max range is but i have 30 US gallon tank and 60 yam 4 stroke and did 55 miles last week and used less than quarter of a tank and that was nearly all at WOT

As for camping there are loads of camping sites close by I am in Chiwlog and the static site iam on has facilities for tents and caravans/campers although they arnt the best and the lane to the main road is around 1.6 miles and is narrow (single track with passing places) but i trailer my Zodiac up and down all the time

so I am up for this if the weather is right i may be on my own as the wife dosent fancy it so if you need a lift give me a shout

cheers Andy

Fuel in Arklow

Petrol is not available on the quayside in Arklow. There is a fuel station 5 mins walk from the Marina on the North Quay. Diesel is available from a pump near the Harbour Office at the entrance to the dock on the South Quay. For refueling on a Sunday prior notice would be required.

Hi Jono,

Is the gathering still taking place?

We are in Cardigan so could meet up with you at Cardigan / New Quay etc.

Eugene, do you know any one who may act as a taxi for getting fuel from the petrol station?

Hi Jono,

I can organise transport to the filling station.

Today marked diesel is €0.95 per litre and petrol from €1.16 to €1.24 per litre.

Please form an orderly queue!!!

Andy

if the mrs doesn't go let me know as I am probably not going to attempt this on the yammy as I don't feel up to it as captain and on such a small boat.
Comparing the size of your boat next to mine pretty much decided for me!
Halving the fuel costs will be beneficial too.

Martin.

Hi All

With the weather looking good, can you email me if your coming and how many for the evening so I can arrange sausages & burgers.

I wont be arranging passage plans, fuel, safety boats or anything like, this is a gathering of like minded people not an organised event.

Jono

The plan is-

Saturday is the warm up day with cruise around Cardigan Bay for the smaller boats hopefully making it to New Quay (West Wales) or Cardigan depending on Weather. Followed by a BBQ in the evening at the Marina Boat Club.

Sunday is the Arklow (Ireland) day for Lunch with an 8am Start and back mid/late afternoon for a swift departure.

Boat/Trailer Storage can be booked in advance with partington Marine on 01758 612808.

Boats can register in advance with Gwynedd Council on 01758704081.
