I think that there is a sailing club opposite Piel Island it might be worth me contacting them to see if they will let us launch from there slip and leave our trailers at the club if anybody fancies that for an option.

Looking on Google there are two boating clubs in the area, Roa island boating club and Barrow in Furness club on Walney Island which could be of interest if they can accommodate us.

There's a slip by the bridge on Walney Island opposite BAE dockyard. There's plenty of roadside parking, there's also a pub opposite the slip with a large car park, they might let us park there for a couple of days for a few quid.

Called at Knott End today here's a few pics to give you an idea of the slip while the tide was out and the trailer car park.

Here's a start, plenty of water on the move by the look of it. We'd be looking at a sat am launch, fishing until late PM & then make camp for the night & settle down for the evening & a few

we nipped over from Knott End to Piel for chips and a shandy this afternoon. Lot of yotties over there for first decent weekend for a long time. B**** jet skis a pain on retrieval at KE. Vans parked on turning arm on jetty and on the slip itself. Couple of skis blasting about pounding ya boat on the slip side. Don't ya just love 'em. One mounted slipway at speed as girlie obviously had no control over it at all. They will kill somebody one day!

Jeff is still doing his rain dance, he won't commit till he knows for sure it's gonna rain, he don't do sunny boating or camping
