Its Kerny's trip but I'd suggest this:

Low water is at 5.10 am. You could launch then, just as you need at least 2m of water to clear the slip, far too early for me though

So launching all morning is good as high water is 10.40. This area shifts a lot of water. Low water height is 1.7m, high water 9.0m

We will have to launch ourselves and dodge the ferry that also uses the slip, but we can raft up just off the slip easily plenty of buoys to tie to etc

I've no idea how long travel is for everyone, but if we aimed to be in the car park at the top of the slip, (just behind the cafe), for between 9.30 and 10.30 that should mean everyone can get the boats prepped.

The slip is a long one even at high water. This is good as we can reverse down and line up to drop each RIB in and then pull the empty trailer away to make room. The slip is wide enough for two ribs side by side, so reversing one at a time is relatively easy.

All the empty trailers will need to be stored in a public car park. It may be an idea to see if we can chain them together for security. Its a free car park.

We will need to let the coast guard know. The locals do keep an eye on the car park, if there is an empty trailer they can and have raised the alarm.

Getting away from the slip and into open water we will need to follow the marked channel. Its not going to be a huge problem if we are all away for around 11ish as its still high water, but there are a lot of mud flats. The channel markers are clear though and its a wide channel.

Trip across to Piel is approx 10nm I think, (never measured it so please correct me if I'm wrong). There is an option to go visit the wind farm as well .

At Piel its a protected bay with many buoys. We can tie up to any of these. There is a slip to come up against to off load stuff etc. There is a ferry, (thing open wooden boat that seats approx 12 adults easily) that is run by the King of Piel. This boat will pick you up from your moored Rib to save you getting your feet wet. If there are lots of us we probably need to let him know as we could easily fill the boat. I'm assuming that we will let him know anyway for camping etc.

Coming back is the reverse, i.e. get ferry to the Rib, pull up to the slip, get away and raft up, then head back. At the other end I think we will need to raft up again and then let one or two Ribs at a time go to the slip to get trailers ready for recovery. If we all pull into the slip it will block the ferry.

There is a launch fee payble to the ferry man of £8

I'm sure I've missed something but its a start.

Thank for that Neil

Regarding arrival time, do you think that we should get there a bit earlier so that we can get parking places, because it's now summer and it could get rather busy, just a suggestion, but you do know the place better than any of us.

Thanks k.

ps I will contact the King sometime this week regarding camping and moorings.

Happy to be earlier but the car park is huge I've never seen it even close to full. I guess it's all about distance to be travelled. It's about 90 mins for us. I guess whomever is the furthest away should say cos it's them who will lose beauty sleep
