Littlehampton Cruise Sunday 23 May

OK Guys and Girls

Who is up for a cruise to Littlehampton on Sunday 23 May. It is high time you Solent ribsters headed East of Nab Tower
High water at Littlehampton on Sunday 23 May is at 14:36 so just nice for a midday arrival for a spot of lunch, sightseeing ect. and perhaps if there is time a trip up the Arun river to Arundel where one can experience breathtaking views of Arundel Castle

Phil Chitty "Galaxsea" and I propose to welcome the raid at Outer Owers (waypoint: Lat: 50 degrees 38.64' N and Lon: 00 degrees 41.33' W)
then head for Littlehampton
(waypoint: Lat: 50 degrees 47.85'N and Lon: 00 degrees 32.33' W

and escort to Littlehampton

Proposed meeting time say 11:00 AM

In order for this to go ahead we need some names down of those who would like to participate.

for those who wish to learn a bit about Littlehampton please checkout:

www.littlehamptonport.co.uk

or www.pontoontalk.co.uk/forums/

once we know the cruise is going ahead we will post this information on Pontoontalk so perhaps a large welcome party may head out to the Owers

by the way keep well away from Selsy Bill best head for Nab and then to Outer Owers

Lets have some hands up and names down please

Final confirmation say Saturday 22 when weather forecast very clear

Andre

PS. Phil have I missed anything

Can't think of anything at the moment Andre.

I will post anything I think of during the week.

Definately agree on the missing of the Selsey area. To many sandbanks for my liking.

One thing you did forget to mention was the delights of the marina cafe !!
Not a bad bacon sarnie to be eaten there!

Phil

You and me too! However I hope we can perhaps make time for this... (Mind you I doubt I've got as many to do as DJL!!)

Andre, we will keep our eye on this during the week and try to make it to Littlehampton as I've never been round Selsey Bill before. Tell me again, how far out should we stay?

Last year I had a very unpleasant encounter with the rocks off Selsy Bill and the repair to my skeg was about pounds 160.00 so ever since I keep well away . So best head for Nab Tower and from there to Outer Owers ,
so from Nab to Littlehampton it is about 20 Nm from memory

Andre, I added the " " as I remembered you telling me about that just as I typed the question!

Crikey... I might need a new chart!

Graham - do you want a lift?

Phil - Andre has been threatening us with this event for some time now. Looking forward to seeing new faces and new places.

Daniel - keep your eye on www.ecmwf.int - looks like the weather's going to be reasonably settled, if not quite as wonderful as the weekend we've just missed

Richard

You're certainly right about the weekend just gone.

Below are a couple of photos of Seahawk 2 and Galaxsea 2 out from Littlehampton on Sunday.

The weather couldn't have been better.

whats the "hole" like - I assume the meeting point being so far out from the bill has a good reason
