Union St

The last time I was there, I was about 17, ended up in a night club (as you do) and then woke up in some complete strangers house...!!! somewhere in Plymouth

I still remember the hangover 10 years on

Lets just say that Union Street was "medium" busy last weekend when I went to Milemium.

I know its not everyones cup of tea, but £12 entry then drink all you like till 2am worked for me!!!

Brian, Im not clear on the schedule over the two day, I guess sat daytime is down the marina / in the sound, but I saw (reading through 27 pages) that their might be a slide show period.

If anyone is interested I can rant on about sibs in Chile, I've got the pc + projector , but no screen, can bodge that with a bed sheet and have done some presentations already so slideshow already made up ready to go.

If you dont want to hear the chat, you can look at the pretty pictures instead !!!

Maybe get the digital camera's out and review the day!

Brgds

This might not come out too well as it is an Excel s/s copy-and-pasted.
But you get the idea.
I count 17 boats with skippers and 14 crew and others.
Household Cavalry still pissed that JK wont be there!

Tiger. Most kind offer on the slide show. But must let Charles (He who must be obeyed) decide.

Sorry guys I'm going to have to pull out of this.

Long awaited house move has just happened and other commitments keeping me busy. Not to mention having sold the SIB as well.

Have a great time, I look forward to seeing the pictures in the gallery. Now you won't go drinking too much will you?

Hi folks

Seeing as Pepper is no longer able to attend, do we have a volunteer to help me crew Quicksilver?

I am aiming for 11.00 at Salcombe so you should see the marine equivalent of the Hell's Angels coming round Prawle Point about 15mins. before that. I know it doesn't take 15mins to cross The Range, but we will probably pause to photo the wreck of The Demetrious.
Don't know about anybody else

STOP PRESS - UPDATE, UPDATE

Hello Everyone

The week-end of the Inaugural Ribnet Conference is a week away and I would like to ensure that everyone attending has a great week-end and that all arrangements are duly taken care of.

If you have as yet, still not booked your accomodation please follow these links and do so a.s.a.p.

http://www.avaweb.co.uk/devon/copth....th.html 4-Star
http://www.avaweb.co.uk/devon/holidayinnplymouth.html
http://www.avaweb.co.uk/devon/novotelplymouth.html
http://www.travelcheck.co.uk/search...searchtype=town
The preferred option is the Invicta Hotel Tel:01752 664997 Tell them you are part of the Ribnet meeting. There have been some cancellations, so try here first.

A number of people will be arriving on Friday evening, those with trailers please report to the office of Mayflower Marina (Angela) and state that you are members of the Ribnet meeting - they will direct you to their secure compound. I would suggest launching your rib, finding the berth and then park your trailer where the staff have directed you to do so.
Saturday morning a small flotilla will set-off from Torbay and (if the Garsides are not too hungover) should be arriving in Plymouth at around 11:00 am. To answer Kitten's question, I would hazard a guess for them to be off Starehole Bay at around 10:00am - Brian can confirm this.

All craft to listen out on CHANNEL 77 please! This will be the main communication channel for the entire week-end.

The focal point will be Mayflower Marina and the Invicta Hotel. I am the last person to prescribe to anyone what they should do, but I would like to suggest we all 'hang around' Mayflower Marina on Saturday morning until most people are present. Thereafter we can go boating, take in the sights, and generally potter around.

The Invicta will provide supper for everyone, so we should all be back in the marina, showered etc no later than 07:30. Dinner is loosely timed for around 8:00pm.

After the meal we will be entertained by Alan Priddy's slide show and talk in the main room at the Invicta Hotel.

Any suggestions would be most welcome.

On a personal note - weather permitting I will be leaving Jersey early on Friday morning with my family heading directly to Fowey, where I will spend the night. I intend leaving Fowey fairly early on Saturday morning and should be around Plymouth waters at approximately 09:30am. If there is anyone coming from the South please let me know so that we can team up.

Cheers - I look forward to meeting you all

As I won't be in the sack in central London after a reunion of old-soldiers until about 0200 on Saturday morning, the odds of not having a hangover are sub-zero. And I don't think the 250-mile drive down will improve matters much. But, sod it, one way or another, Charles, we'll be there

Thanks for the update Charles, I'm really looking forward to it. I'm heading down early on Saturday morning and hope to make the marina between 9 and 10. I'd be interested to hear from anyone else driving in from the M5 at the same time.
At the moment I'm crewless (or should that be clueless!!) so I may need a hand to launch. I'm sure I'll be able to press gang someone! Incidently that would also mean I may be trying to do a room swap for a single - I'll keep you posted.

Look forward to meeting you all,

Dave

Clarky

There are a few of us who are arriving on Friday, like Mike C. Crazyhorse, myself and maybe a few more. So if we will not have had too many beers in the evening then Saturday morning you will find us messing around in the marina so give us a shout. In case we are out on the water ????? call us on Ch 77
Andre

I am convinced the weather knows when Bank Holidays and week-ends are due. Great weather all week, come the w/end it all turns to 'shite'!
The prospects are not looking at all good for this coming week-end. Big front coming through on Thursday and Friday.

Friday Travelling

Hi Everyone,

I am travelling down on Friday. I intend to leave Portsmouth about 09:00 and travel down via A303. I hope to be in Plymouth for lunchtime/bar opening hours I think

So if you get a toot from a strange looking bloke in an Ford Escort don't worry it's only me saying hello.

Unfortunately I am not taking Southcoast II. So will be looking to hitch a ride on Saturday please if anyone has space.

I am more than willing to assist in launch & recovery to anyone that wants it.

Charles I will catch up with you on Saturday have spoken with Lee.

Looking forward to a good w/end

Regards
Kevin.
