Looking good for ice cream on Saturday and Crab sandwiches on sunday.I

If the weather holds boat will stay down and I'll be back to see what Monday brings too, with the inshore racing the following weekend tempted to leave the boat down all week.

And no need to head offshore this weekend to avoid upsetting the firing range patrol boat.

What would you expect to be the average SoG on a jaunt like this? Might restrict some from joining with lesser Ribs.

Speed tends to vary. But in general no one gets left behind. You find some speed off for a bit and then come back to the group or wait for it to catch up. Conditions dictate the speed more than anything.

I would think if a boat is capable of 20+ knots there going to have no problem.

Andy/Treerat often has one of the smaller boats on the few occasions I've been out with him and has no problems. In fact he can be the one we're trying to keep up with. (Eddystone to Fowey springs to mind)

It's just a chance to have a run out in friendly company and hopefully have a bit of fun.

I used to be quite happy running along in my 4.1 with a 40hp on the back, as mentioned above, those with bigger boats would come back if they'd powered off.

That said it's not unusual to have the smaller boats leading, all depends on the wind, waves, weather and tides.

It's a fun run in company - not a race.

I'd expect to be cruising at 20-25 kts, but larger boats not to blast ahead regardless (or have a play & return to the pack) ...it is a group cruise and social event, not a speed run.

Given its going o be F4+ after a few windy days - although Northerly so land should protect from seas an average speed of 18-20kts may be more likely.

Well just the intrepid (or mad) few

So much for Lyme Bay being sheltered in a northerly...just a sea of white caps.
still the sun was out and nothing broke

Great to get out in company and catch up even if we didn't make Lyme this time.
